Job Description:
Co-ordinate special events
Determine the size of food portions and costs
Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Inspect kitchens and food service areas
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Order supplies and equipment
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Clean kitchen and work areas
Organize buffets and banquets
Occasionally attend catering events outside the restaurant

Education: Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not possess the required experience, completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks, or completion of a college or other program in cooking or food safety, or several years of commercial cooking experience will be required.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure.
Personal Suitability: Dependability, Excellent oral communication, Flexibility, Initiative, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Time management.

Important Information:
Flexibility in schedule is required. Different shifts between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM are scheduled seven days a week, with two days off on a rotational basis. The most common shifts are in the morning from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and in the afternoon from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. However, hours may vary depending on the restaurant’s needs. Work on weekends and holidays is required, and overtime may be necessary.
