Cook Job

Seeking an experienced Cook with expertise in preparing authentic South and North Indian dishes, who can thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining consistent quality, taste, and presentation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Co-ordinate special events
Determine the size of food portions and costs
Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Inspect kitchens and food service areas
Train staff in preparation,cooking and handling of food
Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Clean kitchen and work areas
Manage kitchen operations

Education:

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Credentials:

Valid Safe Food Handling and Food Safety Certificates are required.

Experience and Specialization Required

Cuisine Specialties:

Expertise in preparing authentic South Indian and North Indian cuisine.

Experience:

3–5 years of professional experience preparing and cooking a variety of South Indian and North Indian dishes in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment.
