Job title: Cook (NOC 63200)
Wage: $18.00/hour
Work hours: Tuesday-Sunday, 35 hours/week
Address: 408 Water St, St. John's, NL A1C 1C9
Nature: Full-time permanent.
Language: English
Vacation: 2 weeks of paid vacation per annum or remuneration of 4% of basic salary

Job duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant recipes and quality standards
Ensure consistency in food taste, portion size, and presentation
Prepare ingredients including cutting, marinating, seasoning, and portioning
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Monitor food inventory levels and report shortages or waste to management
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and maintain sanitation standards at all times
Follow food safety procedures and proper food storage guidelines
Assist with menu planning and daily specials when required
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation
Maintain a clean and organized work environment during all shifts
Job requirements
Completion of secondary school is a must.
Previous experience in cooking or a similar role is required.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
