Position: Controller-Transportation Operations
Duration/Type: Full Time
Location: 5291 25 Side Rd, Acton, Ontario, L7J 2L7
Salary: $60,000 per annum; The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Hours of work: 30 Hours a week; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of truck drivers and transportation staff to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of transportation services.
• Prepare driver schedules, assign routes and work assignments, and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
• Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, safety standards, and customer service requirements.
• Review Electronic Logging Device records, driver logs to ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal transportation regulations.
• Maintain and review driver qualification files, licensing records, medical certificates, training records, and other compliance-related documentation.
• Monitor and administer the company’s CVOR by reviewing inspection reports, safety records, violations, and implementing corrective actions as required.
• Conduct audits on driver files, trip records, vehicle inspection reports, and transportation documentation to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate transportation incidents, safety concerns, and compliance issues, prepare reports, and implement corrective and preventive measures as required.
• Coordinate driver onboarding, orientation, and ongoing safety and compliance training programs to promote safe operating practices.
• Review and verify driver payroll information, mileage reports, fuel expenses, and transportation-related invoices, and prepare operational reports.
Employment Requirements
• 2-3 years of experience in the transportation industry in an administration or supervisory role is required.
• High School diploma is required. College level program related to business, logistics, accounting or similar is preferred.
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Intermediate to advanced communication skills in English Language are required.
