Employment Type: Full-time and Permanent (30-40 hours/week)
Wage: 35 - 37.0 dollars per hour
Position Available: 3
Location of Work: 5422 Buchanan St., Burnaby, BC, V5B 2R7, and various location s in and around Lower Mainland, BC.
Job Duties:
• Prepare work areas on construction sites by loading, unloading and transporting construction materials, facilities, tools and devices.
• Assemble and dismantle temporary structures including barricades, concrete forms, ramps, scaffolding, etc. on construction sites.
• Pour, blend and spread materials such as asphalt and concrete on to work areas on construction site.
• Bend and fix rebar on site as per structural detail drawings
• Provide assistance to set out and install embeds for structural steel connection.
• Assist other workers on construction site including carpenters, roofers, tile-setters, painters, etc. as
required.
• Provide assistance for heavy equipment operators in securing special attachments
• Provide assistance for signal operators to guide them in moving equipment.
• Assist in digging holes and drilling on construction sites.
• Smooth and level new materials installed using shovels and rakes
• Operate equipment to dismantle old structures of the building
• Check and categorize dangerous materials on construction site and determine safe locations for disposal.
• Sort, pile up and remove garbage, debris, and dangerous materials from construction sites as per
environmental standards
• Set up traffic signs where appropriate.
• Complete all assigned tasks in time as required by supervisors with attention to safety and details.
• Follow all health and safety rules when using construction equipment or walking on work sites even when not on duty.
Job Requirements:
• No education background required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
