Construction Trades: Painters, Drywall/Tapers, Flooring, Plumbers & Carpenters Job

Safeway Demo & Environmental Services handles asbestos, mould, demolition, water and fire restoration, and rebuild work in Toronto and the GTA. We are looking for painters, drywall installers and tapers, flooring installers, plumbers, carpenters and trim workers, insulation installers, and labourers. Work may be on your own account as a subcontractor or on our crew by the hour. This is an invitation to apply, not a promise of work; every application is reviewed by a person and applicants may not be taken on. Jobs are offered individually: you request the ones you want and the office confirms who gets each one. Pay is set before work starts.

Crew pay starts at $21 per hour for new people, with more based on experience. Subcontract work is paid per job, with the amount set before you accept it.

In your application, include your trade and how long you have done it, photos of recent jobs, your hourly rate and day rate. A résumé is optional. Bring your own tools and a way to get to the job. WSIB and insurance are required if you work on your own account.

A person reviews each application, followed by a phone interview and an in-person meeting with your tools. If we go ahead, you sign the Safeway agreement with site and workplace rules and a clause that you do not take Safeway's clients for your own work during the engagement or for 12 months after. The first three months are probation. No fee to join.
