Position: Construction Worker, engineer,welder
Department: Construction/Operations
Reports To: Site Supervisor or Project Manager

Job Summary

The Construction Worker is responsible for assisting with the construction, repair, and maintenance of buildings, roads, and other structures. The role involves performing a variety of manual tasks, operating tools and equipment, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up equipment, and organizing materials.
Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Assist in building, repairing, and demolishing structures as directed by the site supervisor.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and perform other site preparation tasks.
Install and remove scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures when required.
Follow construction plans, instructions, and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Report equipment faults, safety hazards, or site issues to the supervisor promptly.
Work collaboratively with other construction workers, tradespeople, and contractors

Working Conditions

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
May be required to work overtime, weekends, or shifts to meet project deadlines.
Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety boots, gloves, and reflective clothing.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Vocational training or certification in construction is an advantage.
Previous experience in construction or general labor is preferred but not always required.

Skills and Knowledge

Basic knowledge of construction methods, tools, and equipment.
Ability to read and follow construction plans, drawings, and instructions.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.

Physical Requirements
Physically fit and able to perform manual labor for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials safely.
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
Good hand-eye coordination, balance, and stamina.
