Job Description:
We, Joe’s Renovation Ltd., are looking for passionate candidates for full-time dedicated Construction Helpers to join our dynamic team!
Position: Construction Helper
Vacancies: 2
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (30 to 40 hours per week), Early Morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, To be determined
Hourly Wage: $26.00-27.50
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
Business Location: 11886 Coventry Hills Way NE, Calgary, AB T3K 6C1
Work locations: various construction sites in Calgary and surrounding areas.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Load, unload, and transport tiles, stone, flooring materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Assist tilesetters with site preparation, including surface cleaning, measuring, marking, and layout preparation.
• Remove existing flooring, tiles, adhesives, grout, and other materials during demolition and renovation projects.
• Mix mortar, thin-set, grout, and other installation materials according to specifications.
• Assist with cutting, handling, and positioning tiles and related materials under the direction of experienced tilesetters.
• Install and remove protective coverings and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Operate hand and power tools commonly used in tile installation and renovation projects.
• Clean, maintain, and organize tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Assist with other renovation and construction tasks as required by the site supervisor.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
• Will provide training; Previous work experience in a related field as an asset
• A driver’s license is required; own vehicle is an asset
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 50 lbs
• Basic knowledge of construction tools, measuring tapes, and safe material handling practices is an asset.
• Hardworking, reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.
• Team player, Reliability, Flexibility, Effective interpersonal skills
