The company’s office is located at 861 Boyd Avenue, Ottawa, ON, K2A 2C9. At this time, we are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing business.
As a Construction Estimator, you will perform the following duties:
• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems
• Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
• Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms
• Utilize quantity take-off procedures
• Advise on tendering procedures
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
• Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
• Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Position Requirements:
Education- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience- 2 years to less than 3 years
Excellent oral communication and Excellent written communication
Ability to excel working in a highly fast-paced environment; work under pressure, Tight Deadlines and Attention to Detail
Excellent English language skills
Terms & Conditions:
Permanent, full-time employment - 36 hours per week
Compensation: $68000 Annually, Paid Weekly
