Construction Cost Engineer Job

Rubinos & Mesia Engineers, Inc. in Chicago, IL is looking for Construction Cost Engineers. A qualified applicant will be Overseeing cost tracking and budget coordination for capital construction program utilizing software tools including Primavera P6, Power BI, Microsoft Project, Procore, RS Means, Bluebeam, Oracle, Revit, BIM 360, and E-Builder to monitor costs and prepare financial forecasts; Analyzing project financial data to predict future expenditures, identify potential budget variances, and recommending corrective actions to maintain budget compliance; Leading monthly project controls meetings with internal and external stakeholders, presenting detailed reports on budget status, change orders, cash flow projections, and identified financial risks; Reviewing and auditing contractor and consultant invoices to ensure accuracy, adherence to contractual terms, and timely processing of payments, while documenting and resolving discrepancies; Reviewing the complete change order process, including the evaluation of scope modifications, assessment of associated cost and schedule impacts, negotiation of changes, and maintenance of proper documentation; Assisting in the identification and analysis of potential cost and schedule risks, preparing risk assessments and proposing mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts; Performing earned value management (EVM) to measure project performance against the approved budget, analyzing variances between planned and actual progress; Preparing financial reports and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into project budget status, expenditures, variances, and risks; and Recommending and implementing process improvements to project cost control procedures, financial reporting practices, and documentation standards to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy. Requirements: Master’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Construction Engineering and Management or Civil Engineering and one years’ experience in position or one years’ experience in Civil or Construction Engineering field; and experience with Primavera P6, Power BI, Procore, RS Means, Bluebeam, Oracle, Revit, BIM 360 and E-Builder.
