Concrete Finisher Job

Title of Position: Concrete Finisher
Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
Hourly Wage: $37.00
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leveling the top surface of freshly poured concrete on floors, walls, ceilings or sidewalk
• Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces
• Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
• Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
• Checking formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
• Imparting desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Operating a variety of powered equipment including ride-on finishing machines and laser guided screeds
• Controlling Machines and Processes
• Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicle)
• Handling and moving objects for concrete blocks
• Monitoring processes, materials, or surroundings

Qualifications:
• Completion of secondary school is usually required
• Completion of a two- to four-year apprenticeship program or 2 years of work experience in the field
• Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks
• Ability to work in all weather
• Workers must be punctual and reliable
