The Role
We’re hiring a Computer and Information Systems Manager to plan, lead, and continuously improve our IT portfolio. You’ll guide cross-functional teams, establish policies and standards, and ensure secure, reliable operations across applications, infrastructure, and data.
Key Duties (NOC 20012–aligned)
- Develop the IT vision, policies, standards, and procedures; align systems and services with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Plan and oversee delivery of initiatives across applications, infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, and data platforms; set scope, timelines, budgets, and quality gates.
- Direct day-to-day IT services (help desk, infrastructure, cloud, networks, databases, business apps); track SLAs, availability, performance, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Evaluate business needs; approve architectures and roadmaps for new/enhanced systems; ensure integration, scalability, and security-by-design.
- Establish cybersecurity policies and controls; oversee identity/access, patching, monitoring, incident response, and business continuity.
- Prepare and control budgets; authorize purchases and contracts; manage licensing, vendors, and service providers; negotiate terms and monitor deliverables.
- Meet with internal teams/clients to gather requirements, define specifications, and agree on costs and timelines; provide progress reporting.
- Set policies for data quality, retention, privacy, and usage; support analytics/reporting programs and legal compliance.
- Recruit, supervise, and develop analysts, engineers, developers, and technicians; assign work, set priorities, and conduct performance reviews.
- Establish standards for solution design, testing, release/change processes, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies (cloud, automation, AI/ML, cybersecurity tools); run pilots/POCs and measure value.
- Coordinate audits; remediate findings and maintain evidence of control effectiveness.
What You Bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field (master’s an asset).
Experience: Several years of progressive IS/IT experience, including supervisory/lead responsibilities; proven end-to-end project delivery.
Methodologies & tools: Knowledge of Agile/ITIL; familiarity with cloud platforms, cybersecurity practices, and enterprise applications.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Work Setting
On-site only at our Surrey, BC (V4N 1H6) location (urban area). Remote work is not available.
