Community Outreach Coordinator Job

Job Description:

24-7 Consulting, LLC seeks an entry-level Community Outreach/Public Information Coordinator in Oviedo, FL. The individual in this position is responsible for creating and enabling communication between the Florida Department of Transportation, news media outlets, and the general public. Other responsibilities are helping communities understand how to access transportation programs, services, and resources. This position includes coordinating media and community outreach strategies and campaigns. Under time-sensitive deadlines, prepare content for news releases, social media, and community outreach initiatives. Under critical daily deadlines, create collateral material for notices, newsletters, bulletins, letters, digital messages, radio and video scripts, talking points, and other printed materials for public and media events. You will assist in editing the work of others to ensure all published work supports the community outreach strategies and conforms to adopted style guides.

Special Qualifications: The successful candidate is preferred to have a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism, or a related field or a combination of education and experience equivalent to such a degree. The successful candidate must be able to use programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. One year of experience in community outreach/public involvement is required.
