Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Communications Specialist to lead and support WRA’s communications, marketing, and public outreach initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies, producing high-quality content, coordinating promotional activities, and strengthening public engagement and awareness of WRA’s mission.

While the standard work schedule is 30 hours per week, this role occasionally requires work outside regular weekday hours, including weekends, in order to capture wildlife rescues, releases, and related stories and to assist with events.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate communication and marketing strategies to support organizational objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and promote events, workshops, meetings, and fundraising or informational activities.
- Prepare, write, edit, and oversee the production of written materials, including reports, briefs, brochures, newsletters, website content, speeches, and press releases.
- Produce and deliver educational, publicity, and informational programs, materials, and presentations.
- Gather, research, and analyze information to prepare communications materials, research papers, and educational texts.
- Act as spokesperson for the organization and respond to written and oral inquiries from stakeholders and the public.
- Initiate, maintain, and manage relationships with media outlets and external partners.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of marketing and promotional materials across print and digital platforms.
- Conduct online marketing, e-commerce initiatives, and website promotions.
- Design and analyze market research tools, including questionnaires, and evaluate customer service and engagement outcomes.
- Publicize organizational activities and programs to increase awareness, participation, and support.
- Maintain and manage digital databases and communications records.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of professional, office, volunteer, and support staff, including students.
- Perform administrative and reporting duties related to communications, marketing, and outreach activities.

Qualifications Required:
- A university degree or college diploma in business marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in advertising, marketing, and public relations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preference will be given to candidates with professional experience managing social media platforms and digital engagement. Applicants are encouraged to highlight this experience clearly in their cover letter.
