CNC Machinist Job

Position: CNC Machinist
Work Hours: 40 hours/week
Wage: $40.00/h

Key duties and Responsibilities
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
• Compute dimensions and tolerances accurately
• Use measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
• Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planing, drilling, precision grinding and other operations
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
• Monitor, provide feedback and maintain equipment to improve machine performance and maintain in good operating condition.
• Utilizes knowledge of shop mathematics, charts and tables.
• Follow all occupational health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and quality control staff.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities
• May train other staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies

Requirements/Education and other requirements
• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or several years of experience as a machinist is required.
• Extensive experience of proficiency in CAD/CAM software is required.
• Applicant needs to be fluent in English.
