Job Summary:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential care and support to patients in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living centers. CNAs assist with daily activities, monitor vital signs, and ensure patient comfort under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration).
Help with mobility (transferring, repositioning, and assisting with walking).
Maintain patient hygiene and change linens to ensure cleanliness.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
Assist nurses with medical equipment setup and basic procedures.
Report changes in patient condition to nurses and medical staff.
Follow infection control and safety procedures in all patient interactions.
Requirements:
CNA certification from an accredited program.
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift patients and perform physical tasks as needed.
Compassionate and patient-focused mindset.
Work Environment:
Hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and home healthcare settings.
May require weekend, night shifts, or holidays depending on the employer.
