Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled CMM Inspector to join our team on the Night Shift. This role involves independently performing inspection duties using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models, and working collaboratively with engineers to maintain precision standards across machined parts.
The ideal candidate will have strong metrology knowledge, prior experience with CMM software and a background in manufacturing or aerospace environments. A passion for problem-solving and quality assurance is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and operate CMMs to inspect aerospace components per CAD models and engineering drawings
- Collaborate with engineers to understand inspection criteria and resolve nonconformities
- Assist with manual inspection tools and other duties as directed by the Inspection Lead
- Ensure timely flow of inspected parts through the system
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and compliance with AS9100 standards
- Adhere to best practices in quality control and metrology
Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Aerospace or machine shop experience preferred
- Prior experience with CMM operation required
- Familiarity with CMM Manager 3.x and/or Zeiss Calypso 5.x strongly desired (training available for qualified candidates with other CMM software experience)
Skills:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
- Comfortable interfacing with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Able to lift up-to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
