Work shift: 4:30 to 17:00
Schedule: Monday - Friday
I. Job Summary
Drives (safely) a heavy truck to perform assigned tasks on transfer routes.
II. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Operate the vehicle in accordance with essential waste management safety and life rules. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all municipal, provincial and federal laws.
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment and verify documentation on the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
Immediately report unsafe situations or service-related problems to the Route Supervisor or Dispatch.
Participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings and meetings required by WM.
Work closely with road managers to improve road efficiency and identify best practices.
Notify the route supervisor of any incident, accident, injury or property damage.
Identify and report all containers requiring repair or replacement
Follow route assignments as directed and complete end of day documentation and checkout process.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not involve any supervisory functions.
IV. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the function.
A. Education/Experience
Education: No prior education is required.
Experience: No work experience is required.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Hold a Class 3 or higher license with FM endorsement .
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada with a valid SIN (Social Insurance Number).
Pass a pre-employment medical and health background check, which will include an employment verification, criminal history, and motor vehicle record review.
* All successful candidates will be required to provide their SAAQ driving record (within 30 days) during the background check process. This may take 5 to 10 business days depending on your location.
C. Other knowledge, skills or abilities required
Acceptable driving record required.
Good French communication skills
