Civil Engineering Technician Job

Kadtec Systems is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join their team in Richmond.

Permanent, full-time (30+ hours a week); $38.00 per hour, including extended health benefits, dental care, vision care, and life insurance.

Duties:
• Develop detailed conventional and computer assisted design (CAD) optical fibre engineering designs and drawings;
• Draft and prepare technical documentation required for local authority permits. Ensure drawings meet local regulations and industry standards;
• Prepare construction specifications, material estimates, project schedules and reports;
• Read and interpret survey data, GIS information, and field notes to produce accurate construction drawings;
• Coordinate with telecom companies, municipalities, and utility providers for existing infrastructure mapping and conflict resolution;
• Conduct field surveys, inspections or technical investigations of topography, soils, drainage and water supply systems, road and highway systems to provide data for engineering projects.

Qualifications:
• Completion of a college program in civil engineering technology or a related discipline is required;
• At least two years of previous work experience in civil engineering is required;
• Previous experience using relevant software, such as AutoCAD and ArchiCAD, is an asset.
• English language ability is required.
