Civil Engineering Technician Job

As a Civil Engineering Technician, the Employee shall perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner:
•⁠ ⁠Search and evaluate design requirements, specifications, engineering records and any technical documentation related to proposed installation and maintenance projects;
•⁠ ⁠Participate in preparation of engineering designs, drawings, maps, sketches and reports for existing and proposed installation and maintenance projects;
•⁠ ⁠Perform and check manual and computerized calculations (e.g., grades, elevations, cross-sections, and inverts);
•⁠ ⁠Ensure designs are carried out in accordance with engineering standards, specifications, and procedures;
•⁠ ⁠Monitor and control the quality and workmanship of installation and maintenance activities, testing, and inspections according to project’s specifications, codes, and drawings;
•⁠ ⁠Prepare technical specifications for tenders and contracts;
•⁠ ⁠Maintain records of finalized projects;
•⁠ ⁠Report to Project Manager/Manager?;
•⁠ ⁠Perform other technical functions in support of civil engineering activities.

• Secondary school diploma;
• College diploma in civil engineering is a strong asset;
• Minimum 6 months of experience in civil engineering and construction projects;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Database Management software;
• Daily exposure to construction environment;
• Must be able to work outdoors;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to work under pressure;
• Work in a fast-paced environment;
• Good command of English.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
• Permanent, full-time position;
• Hourly salary of $36.00 per hour;
• 30 hours of work per week;
• Overtime pay applies after 44 hours of work per week;
• Work location: various customers’ sites around the GTA and Ontario.
