Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Technician – Civil to support Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects and complex infrastructure development. The ideal candidate will have strong civil design and drafting experience, with expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D and site development.

This role involves developing high-quality engineering deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams, and providing technical guidance to other engineering technicians. Key design areas include grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support civil design teams in preparing engineering drawings and project deliverables.
- Create, modify, and maintain civil site development plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and other industry-standard design tools.
- Develop designs for grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.
- Review project requirements, design inputs, drawings, and technical documentation for accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure deliverables comply with applicable engineering standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to support project execution.
- Review drawings and deliverables prepared by other team members to maintain quality and consistency.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior engineering technicians.
- Support the development and improvement of design standards, procedures, and workflows.
- Maintain drawing control and project documentation.
- Communicate project requirements, design progress, and schedules to relevant stakeholders.
- Support field activities and other project-related assignments as needed.

Required Qualifications

- Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Significant experience in civil design, civil drafting, or engineering technology.
- Strong hands-on experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Experience with site development, grading, and drainage design.
- Knowledge of roadways, erosion control, utilities, and underground utility design.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey information, and project specifications.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with power generation, power plants, utilities, energy, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or Bentley OpenPlant Modeler.
- Familiarity with CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling workflows.
- Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring, or training to engineering technicians.
- Experience with quality reviews, design standards, and process improvement.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a technically strong civil designer or senior engineering technician with extensive Civil 3D experience, a solid background in site development, and the ability to support complex infrastructure projects while maintaining high-quality engineering deliverables.
