Salary: $20.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 30 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Child Caregiver to provide care for one child in a private household setting in Vancouver, BC. The caregiver will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and well-being of the child in a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and care for child in employer’s residence
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development
• Tend to the emotional well-being of the child
• Organize activities such as games, crafts, outings to provide amusement and exercise
• Discipline the child according to the methods requested by the parent
• Keep records of daily activities and health information
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the children
• Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the parent
• Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision & housekeeping duties
Requirements:
Education:
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of a training program in childcare or a related field OR minimum 1 year of full-time paid experience as a child caregiver or in a related occupation.
Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of recent and verifiable experience in childcare or related field is preferred.
Language:
• English (spoken and written proficiency required)
Other:
• Must be flexible with work hours, reliable, and able to work independently
• CPR and First Aid certification is an asset
