Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $21.00 per hour

Note: Gross wages are subject to applicable federal and provincial taxes and statutory deductions.

Other Benefits: Travel expenses and relocation costs will be covered by the employer

Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation per year

Hours of Work: 30-40 hours per week; Overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate applies after 44 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide responsible and attentive in-home care for a preschool-aged child at the employer’s private residence.
• Supervise and ensure the child’s safety at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Assist to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for the child.
• Assist the child with daily routines including toileting, and personal hygiene in parents absence
• Organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities such as reading, games, crafts, and playtime to support the child’s emotional, social, and developmental growth.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the child, including tidying play areas, washing dishes used by the child, and organizing toys and clothing.
• Ensure the child follows regular nap times and daily routines according to the parents’ instructions.
• Accompany the child to parks, appointments, or activities as required by the parents.
• Observe and report any changes in the child’s behavior, health, or development to the parents.
• Follow the parents’ instructions regarding the child’s routines, discipline methods, and care preferences.
• Maintain a caring, patient, and nurturing environment for the child at all times.

Employment Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
• Formal training in childcare or a related field is considered an asset
