Child Care Provider - private home Job

A family in Sooke, BC, is looking for a Home Childcare Provider to do household chores and care for 3 young children (ages 1, 3, and 6). Experience is an asset but not required. The work schedule will be 30 hours per week. The successful candidate must be flexible, reliable, organized, nurturing, honest, patient, and communicative, and able to lift 25 pounds. Duties include the following:

- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home.
- Supervise and care for children in the employer's home, also tending to their emotional well-being.
- Bathe and dress children, and change diapers.
- Sterilize drink bottles and prepare baby formulas.
- Prepare nutritious meals as directed by the parents, and feed their children.
- Instruct children as directed in toilet training, personal hygiene and social development.
- Discipline children according to methods requested by the parents.
- Organize activities such as games and outings for children
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods.
- Take children to and from school, activities and/or appointments.
- Support children with homework as needed.
- Do light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Shop for food and household supplies.
- Keep records of children’s daily health and activities.
- Travel with the family on occasional trips to assist with child supervision and housekeeping.
- Perform other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:
- Work experience as a child caregiver and/or relevant training is an asset but not required.
- A First Aid Certificate.
- Completion of secondary school.
- Pass security checks (e.g., driving record, criminal record, and vulnerable sector checks) after a conditional offer of employment.
- Provide references.
