Sushi Mong is a well-established Japanese and Korean restaurant located in Campbell River, British Columbia. We are committed to serving high-quality sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, Korean fried chicken, and a variety of authentic Japanese and Korean dishes in a welcoming dining environment. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team and help maintain our high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
Job Duties
-Plan and prepare a variety of Japanese and Korean dishes, including sushi, sashimi, specialty rolls, rice bowls, noodles, Korean fried chicken, and other signature menu items.
-Develop new menu items and seasonal specials while maintaining authentic flavour and presentation.
-Ensure food quality, freshness, consistency, and compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
-Supervise and train cooks and other kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, plating, and kitchen procedures.
-Monitor inventory and requisition food and kitchen supplies.
-Assist with menu planning, portion control, and minimizing food waste.
-Coordinate daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient and timely food service.
Requirements
-3-5 years of commercial cooking experience are required.
-Completion of secondary school.
-Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
