MIDORI JAPANESE RESTAURANT is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team in Abbotsford, BC.
Position: Chef
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Wage: $37.00 per hour
Hours: 30–35 hours per week
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Chef with experience in Japanese and Korean cuisine who can lead kitchen operations and maintain high-quality food standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook Japanese and Korean dishes
* Create and develop new menu items and recipes
* Supervise cooks and kitchen staff
* Ensure food quality and presentation standards are maintained
* Train kitchen staff in food preparation and handling
* Plan menus and accommodate customer dietary needs and allergies
* Maintain cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen
Requirements:
* Secondary school graduation certificate
* 2–3 years of related experience
* Strong leadership and teamwork skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Cuisine Specialties:
* Japanese cuisine
* Korean cuisine
* Seafood, meat, poultry, and specialty dishes
Work Conditions:
* Standing for extended periods
* Physically demanding environment
* Combination of standing, walking, and bending
