Job Description:
Position: Chef
Working Hours: 30hrs per week, may have to work overtime if needed
Wage: $37.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
Benefits: 4% Vacation pay of gross salary in every pay period

Main duties
• Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty dishes in accordance with established recipes while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation
• Assist in planning and developing menus, including creating seasonal items and daily specials based on customer preferences and cost considerations
• Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow, proper food handling practices, and compliance with safety standards
• Monitor portion control and minimize food waste to maintain profitability and cost efficiency
• Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, negotiate with suppliers when necessary, and manage inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking
• Maintain accurate records of food costs, inventory usage, and sales performance to support budgeting and financial planning
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients in accordance with food safety regulations
• Inspect kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring strict compliance with health, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations
• Collaborate with management to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and address any service-related issues promptly
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to maintain high productivity and teamwork within the kitchen

• Several years of commercial cooking experience is usually required
