Ocean Periodontal & Dental Implant Centre is currently in the process of looking for 1 full-time chairside dental assistant.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
No. of vacancies: 1
Start Date of Employment (Approx.): As soon as possible
Business address and work location:
Unit 800 - 6091 Gilbert Road Richmond, BC V7C 5L9
Wage rate: $27.00 per hour, overtime will start after 40 hours per week
Eligibility:
• Completion of an eight-month to one-year college or other program in dental assistance or completion of secondary school with on-the-job training.
• On the job training
• English language
Job Duties:
• Schedule appointments
• Keep records of patients’ dental work
• Prepare patients for dental exams and help the dentist during the examination
• Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
• Prepare dental instruments and filling materials
• Teach patients about oral hygiene
• Invoice patients
• Order dental and office supplies
Under a dentist’s supervision, chairside dental assistants with a radiography designation can also expose X-rays. (Uncertified or “chairside” dental assistants perform only “extra-oral” duties outside a patient’s mouth.)
Work conditions and physical capabilities:

• Physically demanding
• Repetitive tasks
