Job duties:
? Assist with recalls, restorations, orthodontic checks, and other dental procedures.
? Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment, and conduct infection control procedures.
? Set up and clean up of dental chairs/operators.
? Prepare patients for dental examinations and assist the dentist during examinations and dental treatments.
? Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant.
? Take and develop dental X-rays.
? Order labs and stocking instruments and materials as necessary.
? Prepare dental instruments, fillings, compounds and other dental materials.
? Provide patients with instructions.
? Educate patients concerning oral hygiene.
? Complete accurate patient records so it is possible to do proper billing.
? Support administrative duties as required.
Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time.
The language of work: English.
Wage: $36.60 per hour.

? Required education:
? Must be a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) licensed by the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP).
? Must have completed an eight-month to one-year college or other program in dental assistance or secondary school with on-the-job training or the equivalent.
? Must be certified by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) to perform intra-oral duties.
? Required work experience and skills:
? Must have prior work experience as a dental assistant.
? Must be able to work on Saturdays and commute to different clinic locations.
? Must have expertise in taking high-quality digital X-rays, intraoral scans, and panoramic images.
? Must have experience following the infection prevention and control (IPAC) protocols for instrument processing and operatory breakdown.
? Must be familiar with dental management software such as Cleardent.
? Must be able to perform coronal polishing and pit/fissure sealants.
? Must be able to apply topical anaesthetic and anticariogenic agents (fluoride).
? Must be punctual and reliable.
? Must have a team-first mentality with a willingness to help the front desk or hygiene team when needed.
? Must have strong attention to detail.
