The Job
We are looking for a cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle transactions efficiently and accurately.
Duties of the Cashier include:
• Welcome customers as they enter the store and approach the checkout.
• Offer customers assistance and directing them to the appropriate aisle or section for the liquor or beverages they are looking for
• Assist customers with questions about different types of liquor, including wine, spirits, and beer, and making recommendations based on customer preferences
• Retain liquor knowledge and assist customers by providing recommendations
• Perform required ID checks and prevent sale of liquor to minors and patrons without valid ID
• Use cash register to accurately determine the cost of liquor. Calculate the total payment required, including taxes and any applicable discounts or promotions, to ensure the correct amount is charged to the customer
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, ensuring accurate pricing and providing correct change
• Securely wrap liquor bottles and place them in bags to prevent breakage
• Stock shelves, maintain an orderly store, and merchandise display areas

• Completion of high school is required
• Previous experience in a retail or cashier role is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of acholic beverages in a plus
• Basic arithmetic skills for handling cash and processing transactions
• Effective verbal communication skills
