The successful candidates will be required to work at various job sites and locations throughout the region, as determined by the company's contracts and operational requirements.
Job Summary-
O Canada Drywall Ltd. is seeking experienced and reliable Carpenters to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of carpentry duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, repair, and renovation of residential and other wooden structures.
Main Duties-
-The successful candidates will be responsible for:
-Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, building plans, and specifications to determine project layouts, dimensions, materials, and work requirements.
-Measure, mark, cut, shape, fit, and assemble materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
-Calculate material requirements based on project specifications and prepare materials for construction and installation.
-Construct, install, maintain, repair, and renovate residential structures and other wooden structures.
-Install and assemble various wood components and materials in accordance with project specifications and building requirements.
-Inspect completed work to ensure that it meets required specifications, dimensions, and quality standards.
-Prepare estimates of material, labour, and other requirements as needed for projects.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow applicable workplace health and safety procedures.
-Perform other related carpentry duties as required by the employer and project requirements.
Employment Requirements-
-Completion of secondary school is considered an asset.
-2–3 years of relevant carpentry experience is required.
-Previous experience in residential construction, renovation, or related carpentry work is an asset.
-Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
-Ability to measure, calculate, cut, shape, and assemble construction materials accurately.
-Basic knowledge of English is required to communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and others at work sites.
-Ability to work independently as well as as part of a team.
-Good physical condition and ability to perform physically demanding carpentry work.
Working Conditions-
The position requires working at various indoor and outdoor construction sites.
Employees must be prepared to work in varying weather conditions, including rain and other outdoor conditions, as required by the job.
The position requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, climbing, and other physical activities associated with carpentry work.
Candidates must be able to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
Employees may be required to work during daytime or evening hours and on weekends, depending on project and business requirements.
