Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Year around
Wage: $36.50/hour for 35 hours per week
Job Duties:
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan layouts and ensure accurate execution of carpentry work.
• Perform necessary measurements and calculations to determine material requirements and project specifications.
• Plan, organize, and sequence work activities to meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install materials including wood, engineered products, lightweight steel, and other construction materials. Install and fit doors, windows, stairs, mouldings, hardware, and other finishing elements with precision.
• Apply finishing techniques to woodwork, including paneling and trim work, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
• Construct and install structural components such as foundations, floor systems, walls, partitions, and prefabricated assemblies.
• Communicate effectively with team members and, where required, assist in resolving construction-related issues and worksite challenges.
• Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and company standards.
• Follow all workplace safety practices, building codes, and regulatory requirements to ensure structural integrity and compliance.
Job Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school.
• Relevant education or minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in trade.
• Demonstrated knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and construction methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods
• Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and overall physical fitness.
• Comfortable working at heights and in various construction environments.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team-oriented work environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail with a reliable and professional work ethic.
