Tasks: - Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and client expectations. - Constructing, assembling, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and other materials, including frameworks, stairways, doorframes, and partitions for both residential and commercial projects. - Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, metal, drywall, and other materials to the specified dimensions using hand tools, power tools, and specialized carpentry equipment. - Erecting framework for buildings, installing drywall, and performing structural woodwork to support the overall construction process and ensure quality standards are met. - Assembling and securing frameworks with nails, screws, and bolts, verifying alignment and structural integrity according to safety regulations. - Installing doors, windows, cabinetry, and other interior and exterior fixtures in alignment with project specifications and building codes. - Collaborating with other trades, including electricians, plumbers, and painters, to coordinate work on multi-phase construction projects and ensure efficient project timelines. - Conducting on-site inspections and making adjustments as necessary to maintain high standards of precision and quality in all work performed. - Ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining organized, hazard-free work areas. - Maintaining and inspecting tools and equipment regularly to ensure safety and operational effectiveness. - Estimating material requirements and costs to provide accurate projections for project resources and manage inventory effectively. - Building and installing custom woodwork elements, such as trim, molding, and decorative features, to enhance the aesthetic quality of each project. - Assisting in the dismantling and removal of existing structures and materials when performing renovation or remodeling work, ensuring safe and clean removal. - Training and mentoring junior carpenters and apprentices on-site, sharing best practices and safety protocols to foster skill development within the team. - Monitoring project progress and adjusting work schedules or priorities as necessary to meet deadlines and accommodate changes in project scope.
