POSITION SUMMARY:

The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and components made from wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. The role will also involve interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements, ensuring precision and quality in all tasks. The Carpenter will work on a variety of interior and exterior projects, including framing, flooring, cabinetry, and other finishing tasks as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret and analyze blueprints, drawings, and plans to identify project specifications and material requirements.
• Prepare project layouts following building codes and industry standards, using appropriate measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials, including wood, wood alternatives, lightweight steel, and other relevant materials.
• Construct foundations, install floor joists, subflooring, and assemble walls, roofing systems, and other structural elements.
• Install and fit finishing materials such as doors, stairs, moldings, and other hardware components.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and renovations on residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
• Oversee and guide apprentices or construction workers on various carpentry projects.
• Provide clients with cost estimates based on project scope and material needs.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience: 1 year of work experience in the position
• Education: Completion of secondary school
• Languages: Proficient in English
