Job Description:
Urban Construction Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structural woodwork and related materials for residential and commercial projects. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities & Tasks
1. Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
2. Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
3. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
4. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
5. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
6. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
7. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
8. Estimate costs and materials
9. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
10. Ensure adherence to safety regulations
11. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
12. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
13. Supervise other artists or apprentices
