Hours: 35-40 hours per week

Job Description
Continental Flooring Inc. is seeking experienced and reliable Carpenters to work on construction and renovation projects at various commercial and residential locations. Successful candidates will be responsible for measuring, cutting, assembling, installing, repairing, and renovating wood and other construction materials. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to read construction drawings and blueprints, and the physical ability to perform demanding construction work.
Responsibilities
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams and subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and other structures.
• Estimate required materials and project costs.
• Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers when required.
Education & Experience
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• 3 years to less than 5 years of relevant carpentry experience.
Skills & Requirements
• Experience using hand tools.
• Ability to handle heavy loads and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
• Comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
• Steel-toed safety boots required.
• Team player.
