Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

• Reading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects, construction professionals, and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements.
• Installing wooden structures such as joists, partitions and stud work
• Designing and installation of cabinets, shelves, drywall, and insulation
• Prepare layouts as per building codes
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood and wood substitutes
• Fit, trim and install wood items such as doors, stairs and other hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures
• Supervise other construction workers and carpenters
• Assist carpenter foreman/woman with their duties
• Estimate costs and materials

Skills Requirement:

• Completion of secondary school is required
• At least 2 years of construction industry experience required relevant to carpentry
• Bachelor’s Degree is an asset
