Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience
Job Duties
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood and wood substitutes
• Construct, install and repair structures such as foundations, floor systems, walls, and roof frameworks
• Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
• Perform framing and finishing work for residential projects (adjust based on your business)
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
• Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and/or commercial structures
