Job Description:
We are looking for a kind and reliable individual to provide care and support for an elderly client. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is new to caregiving and eager to learn, as on-the-job training will be provided. The ideal candidate will have a caring attitude and a willingness to assist with daily routines to ensure the client’s comfort and well-being.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Help with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment.
• Prepare simple, healthy meals and assist with feeding if needed.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying, and dishwashing.
• Provide companionship and engage in conversations or activities.
• Remind the client to take medications as scheduled.
• Accompany the client to appointments or outings, if required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and follow care instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear criminal record check (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred (but not required):
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (to assist with transportation).
• Ability to speak Taishanese (to communicate comfortably with the client).
• Experience cooking Taishan-style meals (to prepare familiar and culturally appropriate food).
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
Working Conditions:
• Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible schedule to be discussed).
• Wage: $23 per hour.
• Location: Vancouver, BC.
