Job Description:
As a Home Care Attendant, you will be responsible for providing in-home care services to clients in need of assistance with daily living activities. You will work under the supervision of a program Manager/Supervisor and provide care according to the client's individualized care plan. This position requires reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling.
Responsibilities:
* Assisting with personal care, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
* Helping with mobility, transfers, and exercises.
* Preparing meals and helping with feeding.
* Administering medication under the direction of a healthcare professional.
* Monitoring vital signs and health status, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
* Providing companionship and social support.
* Assisting with household chores, such as cleaning, laundry, and dishes.
* Running errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions.
* Helping with transportation to medical appointments or social outings.
* Providing basic first aid and emergency care.
* Maintaining a safe and clean environment for the client.
* Providing respite care for family members or other caregivers.
* Assisting with communication, such as reading or writing letters or emails.
* Facilitating participation in hobbies or interests.
* Providing memory care support for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
* Documenting daily care activities and communicating with healthcare professionals and family members.
* Encouraging independence and self-care as appropriate.
* Advocating for clients' needs and preferences.
* Providing end-of-life care and emotional support to clients and families.
* Continuously learning and updating skills and knowledge related to home care services.
