We are currently seeking an experienced Café and Food Services Manager to join our team, with knowledge and experience in Greek and Mediterranean café products, including specialty coffees, traditional baked goods, pastries and prepared foods.

• Duties:
o Plan, direct and oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy Greek bakery and café, ensuring efficient service, consistent product quality and a high standard of customer experience.
o Manage, hire, train and evaluate café staff; establish work schedules, assign responsibilities, monitor employee performance and determine staffing requirements based on business needs (supervision of 10-12 employees)..
o Oversee the preparation and service of specialty coffees, beverages, bakery products, Greek pastries and pies, sandwiches, salads and other café menu items, ensuring established quality and presentation standards are maintained.
o Manage inventory and determine purchasing requirements for coffee, beverages, food products, bakery items, ingredients, packaging and other café supplies.
o Coordinate with suppliers and vendors, oversee ordering and deliveries, monitor product availability and resolve supply or quality issues.
o Monitor sales, labour costs, food costs, inventory levels and operating expenses; assist in establishing budgets and implement measures to control costs, minimize waste and improve profitability.
o Establish and implement operating procedures and service standards to ensure efficient workflow and consistent customer service during busy periods.
o Monitor customer preferences and product performance and make recommendations regarding menu offerings, seasonal products, pricing and promotional initiatives.
o Develop and implement marketing and promotional initiatives, including promotions relating to Greek holidays, seasonal products and specialty café offerings.
o Resolve escalated customer, employee and operational issues and implement appropriate corrective measures.
o Ensure the café, service areas and product displays are maintained to established standards for cleanliness, presentation and brand image.
o Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, sanitation, health and workplace safety requirements.
• Position Requirements / Skills:
o Completion of secondary school
o A minimum of 2 years of similar experience in a café, bakery, restaurant, food retail or similar customer-service environment, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
o Experience supervising employees, including assigning duties, preparing work schedules, training staff and monitoring employee performance.
o Experience overseeing customer service and resolving escalated customer and operational issues in a busy environment.
o Experience with inventory control, product ordering, receiving deliveries and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
o Experience working with bakery products, specialty coffees, beverages or prepared food products is considered an asset.
o Experience with Greek or Mediterranean bakery, café or food products is considered an asset
• Language Requirements: English, required. Greek, an asset but not required.
• Working Conditions:
• Fast-paced café and food-service environment. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. May require occasional lifting of inventory and supplies. Must be available to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Wages: $37.00 per hour;
• Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with occasional overtime. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
