Job Overview

ARE Telecommunications is hiring experienced Cable/Fiber Technicians for Spectrum operations in Birmingham, AL.

This is a field-based role handling residential installs, service calls, and troubleshooting. We’re looking for technicians who can work independently, maintain quality, and keep up in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Perform residential installs, service calls, and trouble calls
Install and activate internet, TV, and phone services
Run and terminate coax and/or fiber lines
Troubleshoot signal, connectivity, and equipment issues
Ensure clean, professional installations that meet Spectrum standards
Maintain productivity, route completion, and on-time arrivals
Communicate with customers and dispatch effectively
Requirements (Must-Have)
Previous Spectrum or cable/fiber experience REQUIRED
Ability to perform installs, trouble calls, and service work independently
Must have your own vehicle and basic tools
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Comfortable working in all weather and field conditions

Ability to handle a fast-paced workload and meet performance metrics
Preferred Experience
Spectrum system familiarity (routing, workflows, expectations)
Experience with meters, signal testing, and diagnostics
Fiber experience is a plus
