Job Duties:
• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of workers involved in manufacturing sofas, couches, sectionals, and upholstered furniture

• Assign duties to cabinetmakers, upholsterers, spring-frame assemblers, cutters, sewers, and other helpers

• Ensure wooden frames, spring systems, foam, padding, and upholstery are constructed according to specifications and quality standards

• Monitor production schedules and adjust workflow to meet deadlines and order requirements

• Inspect completed furniture for workmanship, durability, comfort, and appearance

• Train workers in upholstery techniques, machine operation, material handling, and safety procedures

• Enforce workplace health and safety regulations and proper use of tools and equipment

• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality

• Coordinate material usage including lumber, fabric, leather, foam, springs, and hardware to minimize waste

• Maintain production records such as labor hours, output, and defects

• Communicate with management and design teams regarding specifications, changes, and production issues
