Business Manager - Non Profit Organization Job

As Business Manager – Non-Profit Organization, reporting to the Executive Director will lead the Organizations’ expansion efforts focusing on Africa opportunities and plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the departments responsible for the same, ensuring corporate governance and regulatory compliance, financial oversight and other administrative responsibilities. The Business Manager also will assist in hiring and training of resources to staff the department.

As Business Manager, will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the new growth initiatives in Africa, providing administrative and other required services including developing partnerships and securing the resources to initiate programs in this region.
Direct and advise staff engaged in providing records management, finance, and other administrative services for the new Business initiatives in Africa.
Lead a team of donor development officers based in North America to expand our donor base, create impactful donor relations strategies, and drive fundraising initiatives.
Direct and control corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures within the Department and oversee financial management practices across ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
Plan, administer and control budgets for various new programs for the Africa centric initiatives.
Formulate and approve promotion plans, compensation strategy and overall human resources planning including hiring decisions for the team for Africa opportunities.
Prepare reports and briefs for the Executive Director and management committees evaluating the business performance and administrative services.

Qualifications:
Qualified Management Accountant with a university level postgraduate degree in Business Management or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in international ministry and nonprofit management, with a proven background in Africa.
Networking Skills: Established network within North America’s nonprofit and donor communities.
Language Skills: Proficiency in at least two African languages (eg. Afrikaans, Swahili) beyond English is preferred.
Travel: Ability to travel regularly to the USA and to Africa.

This role reports directly to the Executive Director and manages the Africa focused operations, finance, and donor development. Only Canadian Citizens /Permanent Residents /authorization to work in Canada are eligible to apply for the position.
