The Opportunity
AirQuant is seeking 1–2 Business Development Associates to help us establish commercial relationships with large-scale quantitative institutions. Our product is a suite of rigorously validated, non-arbitrage alpha signals applicable across all major asset classes — it's ready, and we need experienced connectors who can open the right doors.

This is not a retail or wealth management role. The ideal candidate already operates within or alongside the institutional quantitative ecosystem.

About AirQuant
AirQuant is a quantitative research team from the University of Melbourne, the University of Chicago, Columbia University, NTU, and NTHU. We license high-quality, non-arbitrage quantitative signals across equities, futures, cryptocurrencies, derivatives, and other priceable asset classes to institutional clients, earning a share of generated profit as a signal fee. We are currently in an active business development phase with ongoing institutional discussions underway.

Role Overview
Your mandate is to identify and introduce AirQuant to quantitative institutions — quant hedge funds, systematic asset managers, proprietary trading firms, and other signal-consuming buy-side entities — who are looking to source external alpha at scale. You will work independently, supported by pitch materials and signal performance documentation.
This is a commission-only, fully remote, independent contractor engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Identify large-scale quantitative institutions with the AUM capacity and operational infrastructure to deploy external signals.
Leverage existing relationships or conduct targeted outreach to initiate introductions at the relevant decision-making level (CIO, Head of Quant Research, Portfolio Management).
Represent AirQuant's signal offering professionally and accurately in introductory meetings.
Support commercial negotiations through to a signed signal licensing agreement.

Commission Structure
We offer a performance-driven commission model designed to reward exceptional client acquisition.

Upon successfully onboarding an institutional client, the associate earns a commission calculated as a percentage of the firm's signal revenue attributable to that client —

Commission = AUM × Target Annual Return × Commission Period × Firm Profit Share Rate × Your Commission Rate

As a benchmark, a client allocating $100M based on historical model performance, over a two-year commission window at our standard 25% profit-sharing arrangement, generates $15M in firm revenue — of which the originating associate receives their agreed share.

Commissions are paid periodically over the duration of the commission window, aligning your long-term incentives with client retention and satisfaction.

Who We're Looking For
Demonstrated experience in institutional B2B business development, with a track record of engaging quantitative funds, systematic hedge funds, or institutional buy-side firms.
An existing professional network within the quantitative or systematic trading ecosystem — connections at the CIO, Head of Research, or senior portfolio management level are strongly preferred.
Ability to credibly represent a quantitative signal product in technical conversations.
