Federated Hermes is seeking a Business Development Analyst to play a key role in delivering high-quality new business proposals that support the firm’s growth objectives. In this role, you will partner closely with Sales, Product, Investment Management, and a wide range of subject matter experts to develop compelling proposal submissions for both prospective and existing clients.
Serving as a project lead for proposals across the firm’s core strategies, you will manage timelines, interpret client requirements, and produce clear, client-focused responses. This role requires effective use of Responsive (the team’s content database) library content, centralized data sources, and AI-enabled tools to drive efficiency while maintaining precision and consistency.
This is a high-visibility opportunity to work at the center of Federated Hermes’ business development efforts, offering broad exposure to the firm’s products, clients, and stakeholders, and the chance to contribute directly to strategic growth initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead and manage end-to-end new business proposals, including project planning, timelines, and coordination across stakeholders
• Interpret client requirements and objectives to develop clear, compelling, and client-focused proposal responses
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Investment Management, and other subject-matter experts to create proposals, develop tailored content and ensure responses reflect current product, operational and investment capabilities
• Leverage Responsive library content, centralized data sources, and AI tools to enhance clarity, consistency, and efficiency
• Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, prioritizing deliverables to meet client deadlines and quality standards
• Ensure proposals meet compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements, securing required approvals and adhering to established processes
The Expertise We Are Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, Communications, Marketing, English or other related degree required; FINRA SIE preferred
• 2+ years of request for proposal (RFPs) and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) experience or relevant investment management experience required; experience with drafting or reviewing proposal content preferred
• Experience of preparing or contributing to new business proposals within investment management services or related financial services required
• Fundamental understanding of the investment management industry (liquidity, diversification, relative value, performance drivers, and general market terminology) required
• Demonstrates an interest of the application of technology in business processes, including AI and other software to enhance workflow
• Experience with Responsive, Power BI, and advanced Excel techniques preferred
