Requirements
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in commercial flat roofing
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform the duties described for this position
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including handling loads of up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year
- Willingness to work occasional weekends as required
- Safety certifications such as WHMIS, Fall Protection, Rooftop Safety, and Propane in Construction are assets; training can be provided
Job Duties
- Install, repair, and replace conventional and inverted built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel
- Install, repair, and replace modified bitumen roofing systems and single-ply membrane roofing systems, including EPDM, TPO, and PVC
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete and other masonry surfaces below and above ground level
- Operate and use hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment required to perform roofing work safely and efficiently
- Inspect work areas and completed roofing installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable building codes
- Instruct roofer trainees
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety procedures
