Job Description:
1. Make adjustments and perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems within safe working limits.
2. Complete routine maintenance work such as painting, touch-ups, drywall repair, fixture checks, caulking, minor carpentry and general property repairs.
3. Identify repair issues that require licensed trades, document the concern clearly, notify management and contact qualified tradespersons for major repairs as directed.
4. Perform daily or scheduled inspections of building systems, common areas, exterior areas, equipment rooms and maintenance-sensitive spaces.
5. Prepare residential or commercial units, suites, offices, common areas and maintenance areas before occupancy, tenant turnover, inspection or service completion.
6. Maintain stock of maintenance supplies, tools and equipment, and advise management or make authorized minor purchases when replacement materials are required.
7. Respond professionally to maintenance requests from tenants, occupants, clients or management and complete assigned work in a timely manner.
8. Support licensed tradespersons and maintenance contractors, such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters and plumbers, by preparing work areas and providing general assistance.
9. Check that safety and security measures are in place, report hazards promptly and follow company procedures for safe building operations.

Job Requirements:
Education: Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2 years or more of related building maintenance, facility maintenance, property maintenance, minor repair or building systems inspection experience.
Language: English.
Credentials: Trade-related training, a building operator certificate, WHMIS, working-at-heights or other maintenance-related safety training is an asset, but not mandatory unless required for specific tasks.
Personal suitability and physical capabilities: Dependable, practical, safety-minded, service-oriented and organized; able to use good judgement, communicate respectfully, work independently, pay close attention to detail, stand or walk for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel, climb stairs or ladders when required, and manage changing priorities in an active property environment.
Experience: 2 years or more of related building maintenance, facility maintenance, property maintenance, minor repair or building systems inspection experience.
Language: English.
