Building Maintenance Supervisor Job

Matt’s Home Services is seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor TEER 72014 for Greater Vancouver area. It is a full-time, permanent position, 30-40 hours/week, offering $36.60/hourly and 2 weeks of vacation to start. Health and dental benefits.

As a Building Maintenance Supervisor, you will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Oversee, organize, and plan the tasks of employees involved in painting, power-washing, residential building maintenance, installation, servicing of products in residential and commercial properties, and the repair of a diverse range of products.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other workers.
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
• Requisition materials and supplies.
• Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
• Recommend actions such as hirings and promotions.
• Prepare work progress reports.
• Manage the operations of the company.
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of helpers and labourers.

Requirements:

• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills to perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and make necessary adjustments.
• Problem-Solving: Aptitude for quickly identifying and resolving operational issues or mechanical problems.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Ability to Work Under Pressure: Capable of handling work in a fast-paced environment and remaining calm and professional in challenging situations.
• English Proficiency: Must possess excellent speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
• Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication abilities to coordinate with team members, convey instructions, and report any issues or concerns.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy materials.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and adherence to established safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet production deadlines, and optimize workflow efficiency.
• Professional Reference: Able to provide at least one professional reference upon request.
