Builder, 1st Shift Job
JOB SUMMARY:
A Builder repairs and assembles cabinets with quality or material issues to pass inspection using various tools and fixtures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Use of pneumatic equipment, power, and hand tools; hot melt glue, jigs, and other equipment to assemble cabinets and/or install missing components of cabinets to specifications
Check components and assembled cabinets for quality standards and assemble packing trays
Use computer programs in various aspects in building and repair of cabinets to specifications
Accurately interpret production labels and data in various computer systems
When assigned, work on the off-line to address building errors- Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, and color variances
- Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
Required Physical Ability:
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Frequent bending, crouching, pulling, and pushing
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 30lb, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lb
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures
- Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, gloves, and sleeves
- The noise level is usually moderate to high
- Occasional overtime and weekend work as required
